To run a government, you need money and, difficult as it may be for many, both residents and businesses have a responsibility to contribute that money in the form of taxes. Government, in return, has a responsibility to make sure their money is used wisely and efficiently, to make sure that no one's hard-earned wages are put to waste. Our leaders have a responsibility to be open, honest and upfront with the people they serve.

Sadly, despite what they may believe in their hearts, not every citizen or even every leader has always shared our commitment to a small, efficient, productive government. Some have been seduced by the power of government and have sometimes used it to help themselves or their friends secure jobs or special benefits at the expense of the taxpayers. Others have simply grown apathetic and distrustful of politics, noticing how their tax bills keep climbing even while they struggle to make ends meet.
