The Regular Republican Club of Union believes in a very simple political philosophy, a philosophy that nearly all Americans share. We believe in creating a government that is there only to effectively provide the services that people cannot provide for themselves. We believe that when government steps over that line, it is our responsibility to hold it in check.
We are, and have always been, a community of rugged individualists. Although we care greatly about our neighbors and our families, we don't expect government to provide things we can provide for ourselves. If Unionites could police their own neighborhoods or haul their own trash or plow their own streets or educate their own children, they probably would always do so. But since most of us can't do these things by ourselves, we look to our government to give us a helping hand.
